Shannon Brenda Greene, ou mais conhecida como simplesmente Shannon  foi daquelas artistas que entraram na categoria de “The Greatest One Hit Wonders” dos anos 80. Ou seja, artistas que explodem mundialmente com uma música mas que depois nunca mais conseguiram fazer sucesso. 




Ela pelo menos teve um pouquinho de sorte: sua música “Let The Music Play” é até hoje tocada nas pistas mais legais ao redor do mundo.







O single "Let The Music Play", na época chegou a posição #1 na Billboard Hot Dance Music/ Club Play e #8 naBillboard Hot 100. Essa música ajudou a redefinir o som electro-funk, que eventualmente viria a se chamar o que é hoje "Freestyle".




Outro grande hit que até hoje é lembrado e idolatrado por muitos, principalmente dj's de Freestyle e Funk Music é a música "Give Me Tonight' 84"
