O hip-hop faz 44 anos Foi a 11 de agosto de 1973 que a cultura hip-hop deu os primeiros passos
Hoje, reconhecemos e celebramos uma revolução cultural que se estendeu por 44 anos e contando. Tudo começou no NYC Bronx, mais conhecido como o Boogie Down Bronx. Após as consequências da construção da Cruz Bronx Expressway em 1972, que demoliu diversas vizinhanças, os tempos foram particularmente difÃceis. A juventude precisava de uma saÃda – um som unificador, uma batida, uma voz para chamar de sua. O Bronx DJ’s e MC’s subiram para essa tarefa e a cidade os amava por isso.
Hip Hop foi acessÃvel. Uma criança com meios e trabalho duro poderia transformar sua plataforma giratória em um poderoso instrumento de expressão (que também ilustra a inovação técnica do hip hop). Começando com pessoas como DJ Kool Herc, DJ Hollywood e Grandmaster Flash, o movimento de base criou uma nova cultura de música, arte e dança disponÃvel para os 5 bairros da cidade e além.
Hip Hop também foi rebelião contra várias normas da época, incluindo a crescente popularidade da discoteca, que muitos na comunidade sentiram que haviam ofuscado injustamente nas recentes obras inovadoras de James Brown e outros empresários da alma dos anos 60. Especificamente, eles sentiram que as histórias e as verdades emocionais compartilhadas em alma e blues haviam sido perdidas nos sons centrados no pop do Disco. Assim, o Hip Hop recuperou essa conexão, começando com os pioneiros que trouxeram o BOOM evocativo! BAP! Ritmos do baterista de James Brown, Clyde Stubblefield.
