Deirdre Elaine Cozier, mais conhecida como Dee D Jackson nasceu em Oxford / Inglaterra, em 15 de julho de 1954
Dee D fez sucesso no final da década de 1970, gênero Disco. 
Vive em Turim, Itália e possui uma gravadora.
No Brasil, a canção Automatic Lover fez parte da trilha sonora da telenovela Dancin' Days, de 1978.
Uma dançarina brasileira, chamada Regina Shakti, fazia apresentações covers das canções de Dee D na TV brasileira. A artista foi lançada e produzida por Sonia Abreu, a primeira DJ mulher do Brasil.
