Bomb The Bass é um projeto fundado em 1987 em Londres, sob cujo nome se encontra o orgulho da música eletrônica real, o produtor e DJ Tim Simenon. Um grupo que conseguiu criar o seu próprio som e estilo de jogo ao longo da sua existência. Às vezes eles são referidos na imprensa como BTB por causa da abreviação que serve como seu logotipo. A frase "Bomb The Bass" foi usada como o nome de Tim Simenon no início de sua carreira como DJ.
Para ser preciso, o BTB não é exatamente uma banda, mas sim um projeto dirigido por Tim Simenon, e seus colegas na gravação de novas faixas foram Mark Saunders, Capitão Black, DJ Kid 33, Emilio Pasquez e Maureen Walsh. Aos 19 anos, Tim já estava firmemente atrás do console do Wag Club, ao mesmo tempo em que ainda estava aprendendo engenharia de som. O primeiro single "Beat Dis" foi escrito por todas as regras de gravação de som profissional e amostragem. Tendo aplicado suas habilidades adquiridas durante o treinamento, ele facilmente gravou e fez o track master, que após o lançamento imediatamente atingiu a segunda linha da parada inglesa em 1987.
Inovação no uso de amostras retiradas de várias fontes não utilizadas, além de trabalho habilidoso com som, desempenhou um papel enorme no rápido sucesso de Simenon, que mais tarde se tornou ainda mais entrincheirado no palco com sua demo LP Bomb The Bass "Journey Into Stereophonic Sound" . Logo Simenon se torna uma estrela, e seu sucesso traz a noção de um DJ como músico no mundo musical.
O próximo LP "Into The Dragon" foi lançado em 1988, e novamente duas faixas "Megablast / Don't Make Me Wait" e "Say A Little Prayer" (representando a cantora Maureen Walsh) alcançaram os dez maiores sucessos britânicos. Isto foi seguido pelo trabalho com Neneh Cherry (nos sucessos de "Buffalo Stance" e "Manchild"), e Simenon co-produziu as faixas Adamski "Killer" e Seal "Crazy". No entanto, curiosamente, esta cooperação não trouxe nada para Tim financeiramente, e ele decidiu voltar a trabalhar nas faixas no projeto Bomb The Bass.
